FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES AS HEAVY RAINS DEVELOP ON RADAR
We are seeing more rain ahead for South Central Pennsylvania and North Central Maryland today with an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain forecast over the next 48 hours on top of the 2 to 4 inches of rain that has already fallen. Needless to say flash flooding is a bit risk today and flood warnings are already posted for many counties in Eastern Pennsylvania with more to come today.
The area of rainfall has been extensive and doppler estimates of 4 to 5 inches of rain has already fallen in areas north of Harrisburg. There is no break in this today and the upper trough responsible for all this remains stuck for another day to our west. The good news is that it does begin to move eastward Wednesday and this should eventually lead to "drier" conditions. However there will still be the chance for downpours Thursday and Friday, just not nearly as numerous.
